Students are engaged in the full cycle of food: growing, cooking, eating, and composting! Program includes a presentation, culinary demo, tasting, and enrichment activities geared toward developing culinary self-reliance, food literacy, and knowledge of nutrition, and we are happy to work with you to tailor the content to suit your group.

Also, ask us about how we can help you start a school garden! From a couple raised garden beds to a full installation, we have the experience and expertise to design, build, and plan your interactive, outdoor learning space.
FREE ONLINE CURRICULUM
We’re excited to announce the launch of Local Lessons for Growing Minds, an online curriculum focused on changing the way students connect to their community food system! It’s fast, easy to access and 100% free.
Local Lessons for Growing Minds encourages students to understand local food systems and how to make healthy food choices, learn about the importance of where their food comes from and connect lesson topics across different STEM subjects and courses.
Our engaging multi-media lessons focus on Spice Field Kitchen’s core principles:
Inspire young minds to make mindful choices about what they eat.
Connect schools, homes and communities by providing practical information about sourcing, eating, and promoting local foods that nourish young students.
The lessons include video interviews with local producers, worksheets & activities, and easy recipes for cafeteria use and for students to take home.
This initiative meets state STEM educational curriculum requirements and teaches life skills students can use outside of the classroom! Our lessons are pre-planned for seamless classroom delivery and come with materials like teacher discussion guides and enrichment activities tiered for different grade levels.
